Unlike many other countries in Africa, Rwanda has been a unified state since pre-colonial times, populated by the Banyarwanda people who share a single language and cultural heritage. Eleven regular national holidays are observed throughout the year, with others occasionally inserted by the government.

DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN KIGALI AND CITY TOUR

Welcome to Kigali, Rwanda!Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our knowledgeable experts; you will be briefed about your itinerary and proceed to a city tour where you will have a chance to visit Nyamirambo women’s center(Umutima)where you will learn more about women in Rwanda and their detailed culture. for example ways of dressing, cooking to mention but a few have lunch and proceed to Gisozi Genocide Memorial and know more about the historical back ground of the genocide which took place in 1994. After you will be transferred to your Hotel for check in, refreshment and relax. Dinner and overnight

DAY 2 –AZIZI LIFE EXPERIENCE

After early breakfast, The Azizi Life Experience morning begins with a drive to a nearby village, where you and your Azizi Life interpreter will be welcomed by the ladies of the weaving cooperative. After introductions from your hostess, a morning of family chores begins. You might help out in the kitchen, collect water from the valley spring, cut grass for the farm animals and get out in the fields for a seasonal agricultural activity, In the afternoon, you go and collect banana leaves, which you will be taught how to make into a strong rope that can then be used to lash wood together to make a roof. You finish the day back at the Azizi Life office with a cold soft drink and a chance to debrief and here you will find the display of hand crafts at azizi life including those made by artisans you visited and these are for sale if you wish to buy a souvenir and further support the artisans.
Drumming and dancing, whether you have natural rhythm or not with our expert instructors everyone can enjoy learning traditional drumming. Dinner and overnight at one of the local artisan family where you will learn the life and ways living in families of local Rwandese.

DAY 3 –NYANZA KING PALACE AND BUTARE NATIONAL MUSEUM

After breakfast from families, you’ll be transferred to nyanza district, On the way, take pleasure in the work of Rwanda’s local artists on your visits to Rwesero Art Museum, originally built as a palace for King Mutara III Rudahigwa, and the National Museum of Butare, which houses a rich collection of traditional Rwandan art, Centre d’Acceuil Mator boni consilii

DAY 4 –COFFEE IMMERSION TOUR

After breakfast from your hotel, you will proceed to Huye Mountain Coffee for coffee farming experience and natural roasting on the top of the mountain while relaxing. We will then proceed to the historical rock (Nyirankoko) for once in lifetime experience of Rwandan culture. Thereafter proceed to the washing station and coffee tasting, returning for lunch and proceeding to pass by the National Coffee Laboratory, Maraba for a professional cupping experience, and then be given a chance to blend your own coffee for taking home. DAY 5 –POND AND GISAGARA DISTRICT

Rwabisemanyi is located in Kigembe sector of Gisagara district and it is made of fish ponds, medium sunshine, amazing wind due to the small trees that surround it and many hills that are beautiful to look at. And after lunch you visit at COPABU (Coopérative des Producteurs Artisanaux de Butare), which specializes in wood carvings while also offering a nice array of handbags, baskets, wallets, and other decorative art. The shop is crammed with merchandise and is no place for the clumsy. Visitors must demonstrate grace and agility to avoid bumping into plentifully laden shelves. Much of the craftwork is destined for tourist consumption and represents iconic imagery of Rwanda like baskets with elegantly pointed tops, gorillas, and mothers with children. Local Rwandans also shop here for home decorations like wall hangings made of dyed millet, beans and shells. Later return to your lodge to refresh, dinner and overnight at Centre d’Acceuil Mator boni consilii

DAY 6 – RAB AND FARMING

After breakfast, you will drive to Rubona sector to visit, Rwanda Agriculture board, have a presentation on the plight of agriculture and visit to a community to learn about cultivating, sowing, weeding, harvesting, watering to mention but a few and see people how they perform those activities in a daily life, Evening presentation on the success of high quality community-based tourism in Rwanda. DAY 7 – KITABI CULTURAL VILLAGE

After breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed with a driveto Kitabi Cultural Village this is located on the way to Nyungwe before entering the Forest on uphill. 100 meters from the main road (6 minutes) on walk. The village has a wonderful view of tea plantation and would be a nice spot for photographers, Traditional music performances, dances and acts, The King’s palace and accessories, They offer nature walks and local community interactivity They give experiences as beer making, cooking Rwandan food, riding traditional bicycles (Gitogotogo), cow milking, butter charming, honey producing and crafts, You may not do all of them depending on time management. Later proceed to Emeroud Kivu resort for your dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 - TEA PLANTION, FACTORY VISIT AND FISHING EXPERIENCE

After an early morning breakfast, you will begin a journey to the visit of Rwanda tea plantation and processing. Tea is Rwanda’s largest export. The fertile volcanic soil and temperate climate are perfect for growing the plants that create this popular drink. Tea leaves can be seen covering the mountains – creating a stunning contrast to the blue skies, dirt roads and sunshine. Visitors can discover how tea is harvested and get the taste of the results and later transfer to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon after your lunch, you will board a boat locally made and go for traditional fishing experience. DAY 9 –TRANSFER TO MUSANZE

After a quick breakfast, we set out driving towards volcano national park otherwise. This national park is a home to 360 Mountain Gorillas and covers an area of 160sq km. It protects Rwanda’s sector of the Virunga Volcanic Mountain range of 6 extinct and 3 active volcanoes that straddle the borders with Uganda and Congo. Arrival at the lodge in the afternoon for check in, refresh. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

DAY 10 –COMMUNITY WALK EXPERIENCE AND IBYIWACU CULTURE VILLAGE

After your breakfast, you will take a guided community walk in local communities’bordering volcanoes national park the home of the endangered mountain gorillas.Where you will be guided through local areas activities, schools, farmers, lifestyle of Rwandan people and get a chance to interact with forest dwellers the so called pygmies (Batwa in local language) who also speak local language, here you will get a live experience how they lived in the forest with animals including the mountain gorillas, eating low foods and lost meat and how they used to make fire out of sticks and compare their life of that time to today’s ways of living with other Rwandan communities proceed to Ibyiwacu culture village, to experience the true traditional culture of our country back to your hotel for lunch and if time allows, visit the Rwandan twin lakes (Burera and Ruhondo) Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

DAY 11 –KIGALI AND DEPARTURE

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali , have your lunch in Kigali city, later proceed to craft shops for souvenirs and transferred to Kanombe International Airport.
End of the trip and safe journey.
