DAY 1: Kigali
Welcome to Kigali, Rwanda! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our knowledgeable experts for Rwanda tours and transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your itinerary in Rwanda.
DAY 2: Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, embark to your 4×4 jeep and drive to Nyungwe National Park.
On the way, take pleasure in the work of Rwanda’s local artists on your visits to Rwesero Art Museum, originally built as a palace for King Mutara III Rudahigwa, and the National Museum of Butare, which houses a rich collection of traditional Rwandan art, en route lunch and proceed to your lodge evening for checking in and overnight.
DAY 3: Chimpanzee Tracking
Wake up very early in the morning at 04:00am, take a cup of tea or coffee at 04:30am have your breakfast ready packed at 04:45am.
Embark the safari 4×4 jeep and your transferred to the park offices for briefing about the chimpanzees and the other primates in this forest and after enter into the forest searching for the shy chimpanzees and other primates by chance on your way and Return to the lodge for lunch and relax.
DAY 4: Colobus Monkey Tracking
After breakfast, enter Nyungwe forest to track the black and white colobus monkeys. Along the way take the chance to see 13 species of primates such as, Rwenzori colobus, and l’Hoest’s monkey.
The colobus live in large groups, including a 400-strong semi-habituated group thought to be the largest troop of arboreal primates in Africa. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to relax at the lodge or go birding in the area.
DAY 5: Unique Canopy Walk
After breakfast, enjoy the chance to view the forest from a canopy walkway. This gives excellent views of one of African’s largest temperate rainforests and offers the opportunity to view primates and birds at eye level.
Back to the lodge for refreshing and lunch and checkout, your safari guide will take you to Kibuye on the shores of the beautiful Lake Kivu. In the afternoon, explore your surroundings by relaxing in and around the lodge, which also has water sports equipment for hire.
DAY 6: Kibuye to Volcanoes National Park
In the morning after breakfast, checkout, and depart from Kibuye to Gisenyi, allowing you to take in the beauty of Lake Kivu and the multiple islands, have your lunch. Alternatively, take a private boat cruise of 2 hours from Kibuye to Gisenyi taking in the beauty of the lake and having the chance to visit the islands offshore and view the wide diversity of birdlife on the lake and drive to Volcanoes National park. The drive takes you 1.5hrs from Gisenyi, check in for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast we take a short drive to Park Headquarters and meet with excellent and well informed local guides and will keep in touch with the advance group (trackers) the guides will give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla tracking basing on their experience with gorillas.
We then hike into the forest to where the gorillas were seen the night before and track from that point with the communication of the advance group. The trek can take from 1 to 6 hours and climb to altitudes not in excess of 7,500 feet. The terrain is rough and at times muddy. Although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthy. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world.
Remember to hire a porter to help you currying your back bag and can give you a hand during hiking where possible.
DAY 8: Gorilla Tracking
Second gorilla tracking day you will be given a chance to choose a group of your choice.
After gorilla tracking return to your lodge for lunch and refreshment then your guide will take you to the Iby’ Iwachu Cultural Village which gives you the rare chance to meet and interact with local people, in their environment, with a taste of Rwandese culture and traditions Or take any community walk to learn the community experience, return to the lodge for overnight.
DAY 9: Golden Monkey Tracking
This morning we have the opportunity to explore Volcanoes National Park in search of the rare golden monkeys.
A fully habituated group of the beautiful primates’ lives in the park and this is one of the only places in Africa where you can find such great closely and friendly golden monkeys.
Return to your lodge for lunch and refreshment, check out and drive back to Kigali for overnight.
DAY 10: City tour and Genocide Memorial
This morning we have a city tour, including a visit Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre and other cultural sites. In the afternoon you are transferred to kanombe international airport.

A visit to the World Heritage listed Ngorongoro Crater is an experience of a lifetime. There are few places that have wildlife densities and variety on this level. It is not unusual to see the BigFive in one day, and all this in the most amazing setting with a backdrop of the crater wall.
